Suffixes (અનુગ)
A suffix is a group of letters placed at the end of a word to make a new word.
શબ્દને અંતે લાગતા પ્રત્યયને અનુગ કહે છે.

A suffix can make a new word in one of two ways:
(1)   Inflectional (Grammatical) Suffixes:
(2)   Derivational Suffixes:

(1)   Inflectional (Grammatical) Suffixes:
·        Changing singular to plural e.g.: book - books.
·        Changing present tense to past tense e.g.: play - played.

Note: The ‘inflectional suffixes’ do not change the meaning of the basic word.

           e.g.: manage – manager, joy – joyful
·        We can add more than one suffix in a word.
e.g.: motivate (verb) – motivation (noun) - motivational (adj.)
Note: The ‘derivational suffixes’ change the meaning of the basic word.
